Marple’s Special Trees
The Marple Tree Commission is committed to preserving and restoring Marple’s community forest. Collectively, all the trees that grow in our town, whether on public or private property, comprise the protective foliage canopy that shelters us and our wildlife and assure that we have a healthy environment. We regularly plant trees in township parks and other public spaces. Among them are special ones to celebrate Arbor Day every April. Another of our activities is identifying the very special trees that grow in Marple so we can assure that they are preserved. Some are special because they are old, unusual species, particularly beautiful, or have been especially well-planted and cared for by residents. We appreciate residents keeping an eye out for particularly lovely and interesting trees here in town and contacting us so that we can publicly recognize them and their owners.
